The Cooperstown area is rich in history. Its landmarks include the site of a key battle early in the Revolutionary War. There is the world famous shrine to baseball, the National Baseball Hall of Fame. In addition, sports fans will enjoy the National Soccer Hall of Fame, Heroes of Baseball Wax Museum and the games taking place at Cooperstown Dreams Park.


Culture & the Arts can be found in abundance in the Cooperstown area. The performances of theGlimmerglass Opera Compamy are renound. It is only a brief drive from the Lodge. A visit to the Fenimore House Art Museum


Shops and galleries dot the downtown area, offering unique and interesting souvenirs of your visit. Several wineries and brewers surround Cooperstown, a tour and tasting can be quite enjoyable. A visit to The Fly Creek Cider Mill and Orchard is a tasty treat. You can also take a ride on the Cooperstown and Charlotte Valley Railroad


The natural beauty of the area cannot be denied, and no trip to Cooperstown would be complete without a visit to Otsego Lake and the surrounding forests and foothills. Outdoor pursuits such as golfing, fishing, hiking, canoeing and horseback riding are some of the best in the region. The Leatherstocking Golf Course is a championship course of the highest caliber. Halfway between Cooperstown and Albany is one of America’s natural treasures, Howe Caverns. These limestone caves run more than 150 feet below ground.
