National Baseball Hall of Fame

Located 11 miles from the Hop House, the National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum opened in 1939 in Cooperstown, NY and is dedicated to preserving the history of baseball, honoring excellence in the game, and connecting the generations of baseball enthusiasts. A must-see attraction for all visitors.

Glimmerglass State Park

Located 5 miles from the Hop House, Glimmerglass State Park overlooks Otsego Lake, the "Glimmerglass" of James Fenimore Cooper's Leatherstocking Tales. The rolling, partially-wooded terrain is host to a wide variety of wildlife. An uphill trail through the forest affords a spectacular view of Otsego Lake; the Beaver Pond and Woodland trails are picturesque and of interest for the variety of wildflowers, shrubs, ferns and mosses.

The Hyde Hall Mansion, Covered Bridge, and a self-guided Beaver Pond Nature Trail are within park boundaries and open to visitors. Winter visitors can go tubing, cross-country skiing, ice skating, snowshoeing, snowmobiling, ice fishing, and winter hiking.

The Farmers' Museum

Located 9 miles from the Hop House, The Farmers' Museum offers a new adventure with every visit, determined by the path you choose - through the gallery in the museum's glorious Main Barn, where you can experience Wild Times! A New York Animal Road Trip, through the 2010 season.

You may linger among the authentic architecture of the 1840s village, examine a rare find in one of many historic gardens, or hurry on to milk the cow at the Lippitt Farmstead. Glimmerglass Opera

Located 12 miles from the Hop House, Glimmerglass Opera is a professional non-profit summer opera company dedicated to producing new productions each season.
